For the adventurer, there are plenty of local activities to enjoy such as sunset cruises, mountain biking, ATV tours, scuba diving and fishing to name a few. In addition, the numerous river mouth breaks, beach breaks, and reef breaks have made Costa Rica one of the most frequented destinations for surfers worldwide. While the pacific side offers more surf spots, surfers enjoy constant wave action along both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. While You are Here:
: Tamarindo remains to be the most popular and well known, "surf mecca" on the northern pacific coast. This area is centrally located on the coast to offer easy access to a wide variety of surf breaks for all abilities including beach, rivermouth and of course, reef breaks such as Witches Rock and Ollie's Point. However, the real attraction of Tamarindo is its central location between the world famous break of Playa Negra (south) and Witches Rock (north). Logistically, Tamarindo provides the easiest place to explore the most surf in the shortest time. The numerous
river mouth breaks, beach breaks, and reef
breaks have made Costa Rica one of the most frequented destinations
for surfers worldwide. While the pacific side offers more surf spots,
surfers enjoy constant wave action along both the Atlantic and Pacific
coasts.
: Take a beautiful sunset cruise you won't soon forget. Tamarindo
offers amazing sunsets to be enjoyed!
: If
you'd rather avoid all of the organized tours, you can simply rent a
mountain bike and spend a couple days exploring the wonders of this area
on your own.
: For more adventurous types who like this area, take
an ATV tour into the hills above Tamarindo, but be sure to watch out for
the iguanas that might cross your path.
: Costa
Rica Scuba Diving is something that every visitor to this
country should try. Costa Rica diving offers the chance to meet
some of the inhabitants the reef such as tropical fish, sharks,
barracudas, eagle mantas, and giant sea turtles, which live here
year round.
: The waters in front of Tamarindo
are well known as one of the "hot spots" for world class sport
fishing! While each year may be slightly different, the catch
rate for all our game fish (Sailfish, Blue, Black and Striped
Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Roosterfish, Snapper) is
fairly consistent all months of the year.
